The Robledal de la Solana Trail (PR-CC 18) is a circular hiking route that begins in the village of Barrado and explores the natural landscape surrounding the Garganta del Obispo valley and the eastern slopes of the Sierra de San Bernabé. The route crosses the Robledal de la Solana, one of the most representative oak forests in the area, consisting of extensive stands of oak trees mixed with meadows, traditional farmland, and stone walls. One of the most emblematic elements of the route was the Solana Oak, a singular tree around 300 years old and about 15 meters tall, known for its wide horizontal branches. Although the tree died in 2015 after being poisoned, its remains are preserved as a symbol of the importance of protecting the natural heritage of the Jerte Valley. The trail also offers panoramic views of the valley and the surrounding mountains, making it one of the most attractive nature routes near Barrado.
