Description

The Puerto de Tornavacas – Puerto de Honduras Route is a section of the GR-10 long-distance trail that crosses part of the Jerte Valley between two historic mountain passes. With a linear route of about 26 km, it links the Puerto de Tornavacas with the Puerto de Honduras, passing through high-mountain landscapes, oak woods, meadows, and traditional farmland. The itinerary runs through towns such as Tornavacas, Jerte, and Cabezuela del Valle, as well as areas close to the Garganta de los Infiernos Nature Reserve. It is a medium-to-high difficulty route, much appreciated by hikers and nature lovers.

Starts at Puerto de Tornavacas, follows the PR-CC 1 and PR-CC 2 trails through Jerte, skirts the Garganta de los Infiernos Nature Reserve, and climbs steeply to Puerto de Honduras. Waymarked with red and white blazes. Features orchards, oak forests, gorges and panoramic views towards the Sierra de Francia.
