The Puente de los Papúos Trail (SL-CC 34) is a linear hiking route of about 5.5 km round trip with low difficulty that follows the Papúos Gorge, one of the most distinctive natural areas in the Jerte Valley. The trail begins near the Hermitage of Cristo del Amparo in Jerte and follows a traditional path once used to transport snow from the high mountain snow pits near the Torreón peak. Along the route, hikers pass through forests of chestnut, oak, alder, and ash trees, as well as small cultivated areas. The trail ends at the Puente de los Papúos, an old bridge crossing the gorge surrounded by waterfalls and natural pools. The area is also well known for canyoning activities, featuring natural slides, jumps, and rappels such as the Ventera waterfall, which drops around 30 meters.
