The San Bernabé Threshing Floor Route (PR-CC 24) is a circular hiking trail located on the slopes of the Sierra de San Bernabé near the village of Casas del Castañar in the Jerte Valley. The route leads to the Era de San Bernabé, a small hill traditionally used as a threshing floor that now serves as a natural viewpoint with panoramic views over the Jerte Valley, the Villavieja cliffs, the Jerte reservoir and the city of Plasencia. The trail follows forest tracks and mountain paths surrounded by oak and chestnut forests typical of the region. With an approximate length of 10.5 km and moderate elevation gain, the route can usually be completed in about three hours. It is marked with the white and yellow signs typical of PR hiking trails and is suitable for most walkers looking to enjoy the landscapes and natural scenery of the Jerte Valley.
