The Torreón High Mountain Route is a demanding high‑mountain itinerary that starts in Tornavacas and climbs up to El Torreón, the highest summit in Extremadura at 2,401 metres above sea level. The route crosses rugged mountain terrain such as Risco de la Campana, Canchal del Turmal, and Portilla de Talamanca, following ridges and broom scrub with no clear path in several sections. It runs through high‑mountain landscapes with wide views over the Gredos and Béjar ranges. This is a long, technical traverse recommended only for experienced mountaineers.
