The Los Pilones Trail is one of the most iconic hiking routes in the Jerte Valley and leads to one of the most famous natural spots within the Garganta de los Infiernos Natural Reserve. The route is approximately 6 km round trip with easy difficulty and an elevation gain of about 120 meters. The trail starts at the Nature Interpretation Center and follows paths surrounded by oak forests, cherry orchards, and riverside vegetation. Along the way, hikers reach the Chorrero de la Virgen viewpoint, where a waterfall can be seen descending the mountainside. The final destination is Los Pilones, a remarkable group of giant granite potholes formed by thousands of years of water erosion, creating natural pools of crystal-clear water that are especially popular for swimming during the summer.
