Signposted short-distance hiking route starting at Fuente del Regajo in the upper part of El Torno and climbing to the area known as Canchal del Maqui in the Traslasierra mountains. The trail passes through cherry orchards, mountain meadows and forests of oak and chestnut, as well as traditional stone shepherd huts used in the past by local herders. Along the way hikers can enjoy wide views over the Jerte Valley and discover elements of traditional rural architecture. The route takes its name from the guerrilla fighters known as “maquis” who once used the area as refuge after the Spanish Civil War.

You have to walk through the whole of the village of El Torno until you reach its highest point. At the start, there is a car park and a drinking fountain.
