The Tormantos Mountain Range MTB Route 6 is a circular mountain biking route that forms part of the Jerte Valley MTB Center network. The trail begins in the village of Casas del Castañar and climbs along the slopes of the Sierra de Tormantos, a mountain range that separates the Jerte Valley from the La Vera region. The route is approximately 24 kilometers long with around 850 meters of elevation gain, making it one of the more demanding MTB routes in the area. The itinerary combines forest tracks, traditional mountain paths and technical sections, including a notable descent along the historic Camino de la Viña, an old stone-paved trail leading down into the valley. Along the route cyclists pass through landscapes of oak forests, mountain streams and natural gorges, near scenic locations such as the Calderón Waterfall, the Caozo Waterfall and the Bonal Gorge. The trail also crosses the villages of Valdastillas and Cabrero before returning to Casas del Castañar, offering a varied mountain biking experience in the natural surroundings of the Jerte Valley.
