The Los Papúos canyon is one of the most famous canyoning descents in the Jerte Valley and is considered the highlight canyon of the region. The activity typically lasts between five and six hours and has an intermediate difficulty level, recommended for participants with some previous canyoning experience. The descent follows the Papúos Gorge, a spectacular natural environment with waterfalls, crystal-clear pools, and granite rock formations. Along the route participants perform rappels of up to 30 meters, including the impressive Ventera waterfall, as well as several natural slides between 3 and 10 meters, jumps of up to 12 meters, and technical downclimbs. The canyon is equipped with safety anchors, handlines, and escape points, allowing the descent to be carried out safely with professional guides and proper technical equipment.
