Vadillo was a former settlement located near the Jerte River, about one kilometer from the town center of Cabezuela del Valle. The village became depopulated during the 19th century due to historical conflicts such as the Peninsular War and the Carlist Wars, as well as health problems related to malaria. Today some remains of the original settlement can still be found, including the ruins of the old church of Nuestra Señora del Vado. The area was later partially repopulated and now forms a small neighborhood on the outskirts of Cabezuela, close to natural bathing areas and local facilities.

From the urban centre of Cabezuela del Valle, Vadillo can be reached on foot or by car via roads and paths that cross the Jerte River towards the bank where the former settlement is located. The ruins of Vadillo’s church are approximately one kilometre from the town centre, close to bathing areas and various modern regional services.
Vadillo can be visited throughout the year, although it is especially pleasant in spring and summer, when the river environment and nearby bathing areas are more enjoyable. In autumn and winter, the main interest lies in the historical and landscape value of the former settlement.
