Ojalvo was a small medieval village located near the Jerte River, documented from the 12th century and considered the historical origin of the present-day villages of Valdastillas and Rebollar. According to local tradition, its inhabitants abandoned the settlement due to conflicts and pressure over the fertile farmland along the riverbanks, later moving to higher and safer slopes of the valley. These migrations eventually led to the creation of the current villages, particularly Valdastillas. The Church of Santa María de Gracia is historically linked to this earlier settlement. Today no visible remains of the village survive, but its memory remains an important part of the local history of the Jerte Valley.
