Located at 1,274 metres above sea level at the Tornavacas mountain pass, on kilometre 352 of the N-110 road that crosses the Jerte Valley between Plasencia and Ávila, this viewpoint offers one of the most impressive panoramic views in the area. From here visitors can observe the watershed between the Duero and Tagus river basins, as well as a vast landscape dominated by the Sierra de Gredos, the Sierra de Béjar and Candelario and the large tectonic depression through which the Jerte River flows. The valley opens towards the south with terraced slopes covered in cherry orchards and numerous mountain streams feeding the river. This natural mountain pass has historically been used as a route connecting the Castilian plateau with Extremadura, first by early nomadic groups and later by transhumant shepherds and travellers such as Emperor Charles V. Today the viewpoint includes a parking area, a rest area with tables and benches and accessibility for people with reduced mobility, making it a popular stop for travellers, hikers and cyclists exploring the Jerte Valley.

The viewpoint is directly accessible by car via the N-110 road; it is clearly signposted at the highest point of the mountain pass, around kilometer 352. There is a parking area and rest zone next to the road, from which a short walk of just a few meters leads to the panoramic edge and the interpretive panels.
It can be visited year-round, offering very different landscapes depending on the season, from cherry blossom in spring to reddish autumn tones and snow-covered peaks in winter. Clear days provide the best views, while dense fog, snow, or strong winds can limit visibility and access.

It is recommended to take time to read the interpretive panels and identify the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys visible from the viewpoint. Bring warm clothing even in summer due to frequent wind at the pass. It is an excellent spot for panoramic photography and can be combined with nearby hiking routes or a visit to the village of Tornavacas.
The mountain road features sharp curves and may be affected by snow, ice, strong winds, or fog, especially in winter, so careful driving and adherence to road signs are essential. At the viewpoint, keep an eye on children and pets, avoid getting too close to steep edges, and respect safety barriers.
