The Puerto de Honduras Viewpoint is located at a mountain pass about 1,430 meters above sea level that connects the Jerte Valley with the Ambroz Valley, between the towns of Cabezuela del Valle and Hervás. From this elevated location visitors can enjoy wide panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the Jerte Valley, the La Vera region, the Sierra de Béjar mountains, and even parts of northern Portugal on clear days. The road crossing the pass winds through mountain oak and chestnut forests, creating a scenic and characteristic landscape of the area. Besides its scenic value, the viewpoint is also known as a good spot for birdwatching, where birds of prey such as eagles and vultures can often be seen soaring above the mountains.

Access is by car via the mountain road that climbs from Cabezuela del Valle towards Hervás, known as the Puerto de Honduras road, until reaching the highest point where the viewpoint is signposted. Nearby, there is a small area where visitors can stop their vehicle and walk to the observation points.
Spring and autumn are especially recommended due to the rich colors of the forests and the presence of numerous birds during migration periods. In winter, the pass may have snow and ice, while in summer it is advisable to avoid peak sunlight hours and be aware of possible fog on hot days.

It is recommended to bring a windproof jacket even on mild days, as altitude and wind can significantly lower the perceived temperature. Visitors should stop only in designated areas and can take advantage of the visit to enjoy short walks around the pass or combine it with nearby hiking routes.
The access road is narrow and mountainous, with sharp curves and sections without guardrails, so careful driving is essential and distractions should be avoided. In conditions of snow, ice, or dense fog, travel may become dangerous or restricted, so it is advisable to check road conditions before ascending.
