Located about 500 metres from the village of Valdastillas, the Hermitage of Christ Viewpoint offers a peaceful place to enjoy the landscape of the Jerte Valley. It is situated near the local road leading to Cabrero, surrounded by cherry orchards and oak trees. The site is known for its natural surroundings and for one of its most symbolic trees, the so-called Hermitage Oak, which according to local tradition is the first oak tree to sprout leaves each spring. The viewpoint invites visitors to rest and admire the scenery in a setting rich in history and local heritage.

From Valdastillas, head on foot or by car along the local road that connects the village with Cabrero, following a route that runs between cherry groves. Approximately 500 meters from the urban center, near the hermitage and the well-known oak tree, the viewpoint can be found, sometimes indicated in local guides as a panoramic point close to the Garganta de Marta.
Spring is one of the best times to visit the viewpoint, when the surrounding cherry trees are in bloom and the hermitage oak begins to sprout its first leaves. Autumn also offers very attractive colors, while in summer and winter it is advisable to adapt the visit to the typical heat or cold conditions of this mountain area.

It is recommended to reach the viewpoint on foot from the village to enjoy the short walk among cherry groves, wearing comfortable footwear and, on sunny days, sun protection. It is a good place to stop calmly, take landscape photographs, and combine the visit with nearby resources such as the Garganta de Marta or walking routes around Valdastillas.
If accessing by vehicle along the local road, it is important to drive slowly and carefully, as it is a narrow route with local agricultural traffic. Visitors should not park in a way that blocks access to farmland or agricultural paths and must respect private properties around the viewpoint.
