This viewpoint is located at the entrance to Piornal coming from Valdastillas and offers magnificent panoramic views over the Jerte Valley. Its location is especially privileged, as Piornal is the highest village in Extremadura, situated around 700 metres above the valley floor. The viewpoint includes a picnic area, a children's playground and a fountain, making it a pleasant place to stop and enjoy the landscape of the valley and the surrounding mountains.

Access is via the road that climbs from Valdastillas to Piornal; just upon entering the village, opposite the municipal cemetery, there is a parking area and the platform of the Mirador a Ras del Cielo, clearly signposted and visible from the road. From the parking area, the viewpoint can be reached on foot within a few meters.
The viewpoint is recommended year-round: in winter, snow and fog often create unique landscapes, while in spring and autumn mild temperatures and clear skies allow excellent views of the valley and reservoir. Sunrises and sunsets are particularly attractive due to the light over the landscape.

It is recommended to stop at the viewpoint when entering or leaving Piornal, bringing a windproof jacket in winter and sun protection on clear days. It is an ideal place for photography and can be combined with visits to nearby waterfalls and viewpoints such as El Caozo or El Calderón.
The access road is mountainous and may present ice, snow, or fog in winter, so careful driving is required and sudden maneuvers should be avoided when entering the parking area. On windy days, extra caution is advised when walking near the edge of the viewpoint and supervising children.
