Picnic area located next to the Hermitage of San Felipe and Santiago, on an elevated hill above the village of Cabezuela del Valle. From this point visitors can enjoy wide panoramic views of the Jerte Valley, stretching from the Tornavacas mountain pass to the valley opening towards Plasencia, with the Tormantos and Traslasierra mountain ranges on either side of the river. The site is located less than 500 metres from the town hall square, following San Felipe street. It is a short and accessible walk that complements a visit to the historic centre and the old Jewish quarter of the village. The picnic area includes several granite tables around the hermitage, a fountain and areas with limited shade. It can also be accessed by car.

From the Town Hall square of Cabezuela del Valle, it is less than half a kilometer by following Calle San Felipe northeast until reaching the hermitage in the upper part of the village. It is also possible to reach the area by car via the same street, although the access roads are narrow and partly one-way, so it is advisable to park nearby and complete the final stretch on foot.
The picnic area can be used throughout the year, being especially pleasant in spring and autumn due to mild temperatures and the cherry blossom or seasonal color changes in the valley. In summer, it is advisable to avoid the central hours of the day due to limited shade around the hermitage.

Visitors should bring water, sun protection, and take all waste away, as the area has limited shade and is shared by both residents and visitors.
The streets leading to the hermitage are narrow and include one-way sections, so if accessing by car it is important to drive slowly, follow local signage, and use designated parking areas. On rainy days, the pavement and the ground around the tables may become slippery or muddy, so caution is advised when walking.
