Lavadero del Chorro is a historic public washhouse located in the village of Barrado. It consists of a series of stone basins where villagers, particularly local women, traditionally washed clothes using water supplied from the nearby Garganta de los Caños stream. Although the washhouse no longer serves its original purpose, it remains preserved as part of the village’s ethnographic heritage. The site reflects the importance of communal water spaces in the daily life of traditional mountain communities in the Jerte Valley.

The washhouse is located in the eastern part of Barrado’s urban area, on the street known as El Chorro. It can be easily reached on foot from the main square or town center by following the descending streets toward this area. Visitors arriving by car can park nearby and walk the final short distance to the site.
It can be visited throughout the year as part of a walk through the town and its traditional hydraulic heritage. Spring and summer offer more pleasant temperatures, while in autumn the visit can be combined with walks through the nearby chestnut groves.
