Fuente Grande is a traditional complex consisting of a fountain and a public washhouse located in the village of Piornal. The fountain features several water spouts that feed a series of washing basins historically used by local residents for communal laundry. Nearby there are additional elements linked to the use of water, including a trough for livestock and a small reservoir used for irrigation. The site represents the traditional communal water management system typical of mountain villages in the Jerte Valley.
