El Pilón Fountain is a traditional four-spout fountain located in Plaza de la Independencia, in the historic center of Jerte. Historically it served as a watering trough for livestock, which is the origin of its name. The structure consists of several stone basins supplied with fresh drinking water and forms part of the architectural ensemble of the square, surrounded by traditional houses with arcades rebuilt after the town was burned in 1809 during the Peninsular War. Today it is one of the most recognizable heritage elements of the square and a common meeting and reference point for visitors and locals.

From the N-110 road, access the urban center of Jerte by following the signs towards the town center; once inside, continue on foot to Plaza de la Independencia, where the fountain is located. Visitors arriving by car can park in designated areas nearby and walk a short distance to reach the square.
It can be visited throughout the year as part of a walk through the historic center of Jerte, being especially pleasant in spring and summer when the square is more lively and visits to the valley are more frequent.
