The Hermitage of Christ of the Humiliation is a small 18th-century religious building located on the outskirts of Casas del Castañar. Built mainly with granite, the hermitage features a single nave and a small front porch supported by columns that provides shelter before entering the temple. The entrance is marked by a simple semicircular stone arch, typical of traditional rural religious architecture in the region. Inside the chapel is the image of Christ of the Humiliation, an object of deep devotion for the inhabitants of the village and the wider Jerte Valley. The hermitage stands in a rural setting surrounded by cherry and chestnut trees, forming part of the traditional religious heritage of the area.

The hermitage is located at the end of Calle Real de Abajo in Casas del Castañar, at the starting point of the Carlos V route that connects the Jerte Valley with La Vera. From the center of the village it is easy to reach on foot by descending that street, and it is also possible to approach by vehicle via local streets to the vicinity, where you can park before accessing the church.
The hermitage can be visited year-round as part of the religious heritage and the route of Carlos V, adapting to worship schedules and any religious ceremonies that take place. Spring and autumn are especially pleasant times to combine the visit with walks around the surroundings and with the historic route itself between the valley and La Vera.
