The Hermitage of Cristo del Humilladero is a small rural chapel located about 500 metres from the village of Valdastillas, on the road toward Cabrero. The building is a simple structure made of masonry with granite reinforcements and a lintelled entrance. A small garden stands in front of the hermitage, creating a peaceful setting around the sanctuary. Next to the chapel grows a well-known oak tree that is traditionally believed to be the first to sprout leaves each spring in the Jerte Valley, serving as a local sign that the cherry blossom season is approaching. The site also offers beautiful panoramic views of the valley and the surrounding terraced cherry orchards.

From the urban center of Valdastillas, take the local road heading toward Cabrero and, after approximately 500 meters, the hermitage can be seen on one side of the road. It is possible to reach the vicinity by car and walk the last few meters, or to walk from the village along the same road, taking extra caution on sections without a shoulder.
The hermitage can be visited throughout the year, although spring is especially attractive, when cherry trees bloom and the nearby oak tree signals the beginning of the flowering season in the valley. Autumn also offers a very appealing landscape, as the terraced orchards take on vivid colors, making it an excellent spot to enjoy the views.

It is recommended to combine the visit with a walk through the historic center of Valdastillas and the nearby Garganta de Marta. Comfortable footwear is advisable and, on sunny days, sun protection and water should be brought, as the area is open and exposure to the sun can be high.
When accessing on foot along the road toward Cabrero, it is important to walk on the safest side and remain aware of passing vehicles, as this is a narrow road. On rainy or foggy days, visibility may be reduced and the surface can become slippery, so extra caution is advised both when walking and driving.
