The Hermitage of Saint George is a Baroque religious building constructed between the 17th and 18th centuries on a hill outside the town of Navaconcejo. The structure consists of a rectangular nave divided into two sections and built with masonry reinforced by granite stonework. Inside, a wooden roof covers the space and an 18th-century altarpiece displays images of Saint George, Saint Barbara and Saint Mark. The hermitage also houses the image of Our Lady of the Rock, which was transferred in 1746 from the abandoned medieval settlement of Peñahorcada after severe floods. Every year on April 23 a traditional pilgrimage is held in honor of Saint George, featuring mass, a procession and local customs such as carrying a cherry branch and sharing bread and cheese.

The hermitage is located south of Navaconcejo, about 300 meters from the town, on top of San Jorge hill. It can be accessed via a concrete path that starts uphill from a bend in the N-110 road, at the southern end of the straight section crossing the village, where a small garden with a cross is located. From there, visitors can reach the hermitage and its viewpoint on foot or by vehicle.
The hermitage can be visited year-round, although it becomes especially significant on April 23rd, during the San Jorge pilgrimage, which includes mass, procession, and traditional customs such as the cherry branch offering and the distribution of bread and cheese. On clear days, spring and autumn are particularly suitable for enjoying the views from the adjacent viewpoint over Navaconcejo and the upper Jerte Valley.

The concrete path has a steep slope and can be slippery in rainy or icy conditions, so caution is advised both when walking and driving. During pilgrimage days, the area can become crowded with people and vehicles, so visitors should follow traffic indications and respect parking areas and the organization of religious events.
