**A fascinating journey through the history, science and identity of the Jerte** The CIMBRA Centre offers a journey through the historical, social and environmental evolution of the Jerte Valley, ranging from its earliest Celtic settlements to the agricultural transformations and sustainability challenges of the contemporary rural world. Through audiovisual displays, models and traditional artefacts, it illustrates the deep connection between its inhabitants and the landscape over the millennia. The visit concludes at the Dr Sayans Ethnographic Museum, a unique venue housing a valuable collection of almost 3,000 items — including medical treatises, archaeological finds, works of art and scientific instruments — assembled by this distinguished doctor and historian. An essential cultural stop to understand the region’s past and identity from multiple perspectives.
