The Cañera is a traditional irrigation channel located in the village of Piornal in the Jerte Valley. Historically used to water nearby vegetable gardens, it also served as a social gathering point where villagers carried out daily tasks such as washing clothes. Today it forms part of the cultural project “Habla al Agua”, which preserves the oral memory of local women through QR codes featuring songs and testimonies. The site retains its rural character and is located near traditional orchards and routes leading to the Calderón Waterfall.

It can be reached on foot from the town center of Piornal by following the “Habla el Agua” route, which connects various fountains, washhouses, and traditional water channels of the village until reaching the orchard area where La Cañera is located.
