Coronel Golfín Street is one of the main historic streets in the town of Jerte and forms part of the longitudinal axis that structures the village. It is named in honor of Colonel Golfín, a military officer who helped defend the town against French troops during the Peninsular War in 1809. The street was rebuilt after the fire caused by the forces of General Soult that same year. Along its more than 300 meters, visitors can find traditional houses built with timber-frame and stone architecture, as well as some buildings featuring heraldic shields, arcades, and carved stone lintels dating back to the 18th century. Today it remains an important street in the historic center, home to residences, small shops, and local restaurants.
