Historic neighbourhood located in the highest part of El Torno and considered the original core of the village. Its narrow and steep streets preserve traditional Jerte Valley architecture, with timber-framed houses, stone walls and characteristic wooden balconies known as “solanas”, historically used for drying agricultural products. The area represents a well-preserved example of mountain village architecture and forms part of the town’s cultural heritage. From its streets visitors can also enjoy views over the Jerte Valley and its terraced cherry orchards.

From Plaza Mayor in El Torno, walk uphill through the inner streets following local signs towards Barrio del Castillo, located in the upper part of the village. The route is short but steep, passing through narrow alleys and traditional houses until reaching the neighborhood.
It can be visited throughout the year as part of a walk through El Torno, being especially pleasant in spring and autumn due to mild temperatures and the combination of traditional architecture with the surrounding cherry groves and mountain landscape.

The streets are steep, narrow, and in some sections have uneven paving, so caution is advised when walking, especially on rainy days. Vehicle access is not recommended in most parts of the neighborhood due to the limited space and its residential character.
